Garden brazier options
With savings of anything up to 60% when you shop for a garden brazier online, it would be unfair of us not to take a closer look at what you're getting for your money here.
Are these fire pits? We tend to think of firepits as being a little bit lower to the ground, although there's no doubt that the two product types are closely related.
An outdoor brazier tends to have more depth to it. Indeed, many people refer to them as garden fire baskets.
But they do a similar job. Essentially, they are all about creating a great outdoor fire.
What about cooking? That's one area where a garden brazier may suffer when compared to a contemporary fire pit. Many fire pit models, including those from leading manufacturers such as La Hacienda and Direct Designs, appear to come with cooking utensils and accessories these days.
This reflects the fact that they often have a double use. They can be used for cooking during the day, or early in the evening. Then, once there's a bit more of a chill in the air, you can switch and make use of them to provide a lot of heat and added atmosphere.
But a fire basket (or outdoor brazier) concentrates on the latter part of this story. They're all about heating and creating that funky evening atmosphere.
When we've used them in the past, we've tended to put them on stone patios. We've looked to avoid wood decking, for fear of burning the decking timbers.
But they do work well on a patio. We've also seen them used at weddings and events. In those cases, they look especially impressive when placed either side of a door or opening. They appear to frame the opening, which looks rather nice.
As ever, there is the need to remember safety issues. In particular, be careful where you position these braziers if the wind is gusting. You don't want to end up burning a beautiful garden gazebo!
